Horseback Riding Therapy

øDignity Now provides individual scholarships for Therapeutic Horseback Riding Services through Equi-Librium Therapy Center.

There are two types of therapeutic riding services offered. Hippo-therapy is used by specially trained therapists to effectively work toward functional goals. The rhythmic movement of the horse mimics the movement of the human gait, allowing unique sensory input to affect coordination, balance, strength, body awareness and communication and is appropriate for clients who have multiple disabilities and physical impairments, such as cerebral palsy. Therapeutic Riding strategically uses the horse to help promote focus and attention, a strong work ethic, communication and self-confidence.

The services and programs offered and coordinated by Dignity Now, including the Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program are all designed toward enabling persons with developmental disabilities to progress toward normal living and to develop their capacity, performance and relationships with others.”
